It's a good day to build a good tube amplifier.
1963. The Beach Boys released Surfin' USA, Coke introduced Tab soda, and Dynaco released the classic Stereo 35 tube amplifier. What an amazing amp it was, and collectors still seek them out today. It had a push-pull output stage using a pair of EL84 tubes per channel, and the driver tube was a 12DW7, perfect for a gain stage in one section and phase-inverter in the other. All together, the ST-35 was a small but mighty amp producing some awesome sound typically found in amps much larger.
The Pacific 63 is my contemporary amp inspired by the ST-35. It uses a similar topology with the 12DW7 and EL84 tubes, but has new components, a custom designed circuit with two source inputs to switch between--and of course a great surfside style! 15 watts per channel and a 4 or 8 ohm impedance switch lets you drive nearly any speakers you have.

The kit was very well put together, with all the parts needed. It included a wonderful instruction manual that was super easy to follow. The finished amplifier is beautiful looking and has an amazing sound. Overall, it was a great learning project, with a well built amp, that will last for generations as an end result.

Love my new Pacific 63 Amp. I also own a Legendarium amp and a pair of AE1-C Mono Blocks. The Pacific 63 is dead quiet and sounds fantastic with my Klipsch Cornwall IV's. I'm using a Don Sachs Pre-amp with it. Great job Perry!
